Future-Ready MSMEs Driving India , Innovation, and Collaboration for a Viksit Bharat

Nashik recently witnessed an inspiring gathering of industry leaders, policymakers, and entrepreneurs as the Western Region of the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) hosted a day-long regional MSME summit. With the theme “Building Future-Ready MSMEs – Viksit MSMEs for Viksit Bharat,” the summit focused on harnessing innovation, adopting new technologies, and strengthening collaboration to elevate India’s micro, small, and medium enterprises to global standards.

Driving Growth Through Innovation and Digitalisation

Development Commissioner (Industries) of Maharashtra, Deependra Singh Kushwah, addressed the summit virtually, highlighting the state’s entrepreneurial spirit as a cornerstone of India’s MSME success story. He stressed that for India to achieve its ambitious vision of Viksit Bharat by 2047, MSMEs must embrace innovation, competitiveness, and collaboration. “The backbone of the country’s economy lies in the MSMEs, contributing 30% to the GDP and generating vast employment opportunities. By adopting new technology and digitalisation, they can play an even greater role in shaping India’s future,” Kushwah said.

Vrushali Sone, Joint Director of Industries, Nashik region, elaborated on government schemes designed to support MSMEs and the proactive steps the state has taken to boost their growth. The summit served as a platform to showcase how digital tools, global linkages, and sustainability initiatives can enhance MSME competitiveness, enabling them to expand into international markets.

MSME Clinics: A One-Stop Support System

A major highlight of the event was the launch of MSME Clinics by the CII, positioning them as one-stop facilitation centers. These clinics are designed to provide comprehensive support to entrepreneurs, from financial guidance and technology solutions to quality assurance, market access, and compliance management. By bridging gaps and offering accessible resources, these centers aim to empower MSMEs and equip them for future challenges.

Collaboration, Sustainability, and Global Competitiveness

Sessions at the summit emphasized the importance of technology partnerships, digital adoption, and sustainable practices. Participants discussed how adopting advanced tools and innovative strategies can enhance operational efficiency, reduce costs, and help MSMEs thrive in an increasingly competitive global market.

Deepak Garg, Vice-Chairman of CII Maharashtra, remarked, “For MSMEs, embracing innovation, technology, and digitalisation is no longer optional—it is essential for sustaining growth and contributing to the nation’s vision of Viksit Bharat by 2047.”

K Nandakumar, Chairman of CII Western Region Sub-Committee on MSMEs, added that Maharashtra’s robust industrial ecosystem offers a unique advantage. With adaptability, technology adoption, and innovation at the forefront, MSMEs can lead the transformation of India’s economy and demonstrate global leadership in the coming decades.

Shaping the Future of India’s MSMEs

The summit reinforced the pivotal role of MSMEs in India’s economic growth, highlighting the need for continuous innovation, collaboration, and sustainability. By leveraging technology and digitalisation, MSMEs can not only strengthen their domestic presence but also make a mark on the international stage, driving the nation closer to the dream of a Viksit Bharat by 2047.
